The Hericium mushroom, Hericium erinaceus in Latin, Coral urchin in Slovak, also known as Lion's Mane, is a unique mushroom that is characterized by its round shape, reminiscent of a lion's mane. This name is the most famous, but in different parts of the world we also meet other nicknames. In Japan, this mushroom is called Yamabushitake, while in China it is called Ho Tou Gu, which translates to "monkey head".

This type of mushroom is easily identifiable due to its characteristic shape, which is typical of a lion's mane.

Hericium is an edible mushroom and can be found in North America, Europe and Asia.

Hericium can be identified by its long spines (longer than 1 centimeter) found on hardwoods. This fungus tends to grow in the lower parts of wood and trees.

Hericium erinaceus is known for its high content of bioactive substances, which have many positive effects on the human body, especially on the brain, heart and intestines. Currently, there is increasing interest in the use of this mushroom, and as a result, a lot of scientific research is also being done, which confirms its extraordinary effects.

        Our tip:
For better absorbability of active substances, it is recommended to increase the intake of Vitamin C when using vital mushrooms. We recommend Liposomal Vitamin C, the absorbability of which is up to 95% compared to the normal form of Vitamin C, which has an absorbability of 7-8%.
