        Rattlesnake Bird

        24.90 €

        30 cm in length

These handcrafted maracas, also known as shamanic rattles, are produced by the Shipibo people from Peru’s Pucalpa region. They are embellished with vibrant threads and bird feathers gathered from the Amazon rainforest. The rattle’s handle is made from resilient Chonta palm wood, while the head is crafted from the fruit of a sacred plant called Wingo.

We carefully select the seeds inside each rattle to ensure they emit a clear and robust sound. Every maraca is slightly unique in color, shape, and design, all meticulously handmade by indigenous artisans of the Peruvian Amazon rainforest. These shamanic rattles are used to initiate and conclude sacred rituals and to energetically cleanse individuals and spaces.

Beyond the drum, the rattle has consistently been one of the most significant instruments in shamanic traditions worldwide.
