This handmade tepí made of Brazilian bamboo is a ceremonial blowpipe for the partnership administration of rapé. In contrast to the kuripe, which is used for self-application, the tepí is led by a second person – an act of trust and conscious connection within the ceremony.
Two carefully designed decorative elements made of natural aya liana enclose the bamboo shaft. The hand-sculpted reliefs feature leaves, tendrils and floral motifs that evoke the living power of the vine. In the larger of the two elements rests a green aventurine cabochon – a stone that is said to have heart-opening and harmonizing properties in shamanic traditions.
Both the mouthpiece and the appliqué end are decorated with hand-burned geometric patterns that extend over the entire bamboo surface and are inspired by traditional indigenous motifs of South America. The elaborate pyroengraving gives this Tepí a particularly noble, consistently designed aesthetic.
