The botanical story
Theobroma cacao
The cacao tree is native to the tropical rainforests of South America, including the Amazon basin. Its large pods grow directly from the trunk and branches and hold the seeds known as cacao beans.
For Rapé Cacao, the Huni Kuin prepare a fine ash from the cacao tree and combine it with Mapacho according to ancestral knowledge.
