Pau Pereira — clarity that wakes you up
Rapé Pau Pereira is one of the stronger classic Amazonian blends, prepared by the Huni Kuin people and valued by several Indigenous peoples of Acre for its direct, clarifying character. It contains ash of the bark of the Pau Pereira tree and Mapacho.
In tradition it is chosen to clear inner heaviness, return to focus and reconnect with a steadier state of mind – a blend of deep cleansing and grounding, connected with the whole energetic body and the Third Eye.

The Sage
In tradition Pau Pereira is associated with mental, emotional, energetic, spiritual and physical cleansing – detox of body and energy field – and with deep meditation, concentration, commitment and focus. It is said to act as a protective shield and a guide, connecting with the joy and wisdom of the jungle. A sacred medicine with visionary properties, perfect for inner work, deep insight and elevating spiritual practice; despite its intensity, it carries warmth and anchors the body in Mother Earth. As the tribes teach: “The stronger the Rapé, the more it will wake you up and inspire you to change for a better and richer life.”

The botanical story
Geissospermum vellosii
The ash in this Rapé comes from the bark of the Pau Pereira tree, most commonly identified in botanical literature as Geissospermum vellosii (sometimes also Geissospermum laeve). It is a tall tree of Brazilian forests from the dogbane family, known for its strikingly bitter bark.
Because Indigenous naming systems and regional traditions vary, the exact botanical identification may differ between communities and producers. Read more about the tribe in our article about the Huni Kuin people.
