        Aya huasca vine

        About Banisteriopsis Caapi/ Aya

This tropical vine can grow up to 30 meters long and lean on other plants. The Caapi vine can grow old and can be up to 100 years old or more. Banisteriopsis caapi, the vine, is the primary ingredient in Aya, a traditional medicinal tea from the Amazon region. A tea made with only the caapi vine is called Aya.

Some natives distinguish more than 40 species of Caapi vine. Native shamans and others say they can enter another state of mind with just an infusion of B. Caapi. This vine is seen by most of the 72 tribes as a "master plant" that provides specific information about other plants. They claim that their superior botanical knowledge is due to the vine.

One of my favorites. It relaxes me physically and helps me get to the details explaining what Im doing when Im acting. Being aware of the motives/intention behind the action helps me change my attitude towards myself. And that's another line of release. It happens that I approach the ritual with some intention and Aya brings me a vision of something else, ultimately more important.
