Jagube, also known as the Banisteriopsis caapi vine, plays a vital role in Indigenous traditions as the primary ingredient in Ayahuasca, the sacred brew used for spiritual connection. Often referred to as the "vine of the soul," Jagube serves as a bridge to the spiritual realm and ancestral wisdom. The Puyanawa tribe honors this tradition by incorporating the vine’s ashes into their Rapé, a practice established by their chief.
Renowned for its grounding and strengthening properties, the Jagube vine is essential to the Ayahuasca experience, anchoring visions and providing spiritual endurance. In Puyanawa Jagube Rapé, the vine’s ashes carry these mystical attributes, deepening the connection to higher consciousness.

This unique blend is enhanced with a touch of pixuri leaf, a cherished herb among the Puyanawa for its purifying and uplifting qualities. Pixuri seeds, often called Brazilian nutmeg, are widely used in cooking, while the leaves are valued for their role in energetic cleansing and spiritual rituals.
To amplify its potency, the Puyanawa also include strong Sabia tobacco, known for its grounding and protective properties, making this Rapé a powerful tool for meditation and inner exploration.
Pixuri tree
Licaria puchury also has the names Pixuri, Puxuri or Apuxuri. Its origin is in distant Japan. In English, the seeds are known as Brazilian nutmeg. The leaves have a more minty and refreshing scent than the seeds, which are actually more nutmeg in taste. It has diverse medicinal effects, many of which are similar to those of true nutmeg. The leaves are antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial. These are properties that are beneficial in maintaining a healthy respiratory system. It helps increase libido and as such is a sexual stimulant. Like nutmeg, it is said to create happiness when eaten in large enough doses, but all the little bits help.
