Murici — the Rapé of Warriors

Rapé Murici is one of our favourite blends, prepared by the Huni Kuin people from the ash of Murici bark (Byrsonima crassifolia) and Mapacho. Indigenous people call it the “Rapé of Warriors” – a blend with strong masculine energy and deep connection to the earth.

In tradition it helps find the strength to act, focus on a goal and keep a clear mind. It is associated with contacting one’s inner power, with emotional balance and with building relationships and social bonds.

The botanical story

Byrsonima crassifolia

Murici is a small, hardy tree of the South American savannas and forest edges. It bears clusters of yellow flowers that slowly turn orange-red, followed by small round yellow fruits with a distinctive aroma, enjoyed fresh or in juices across Brazil.

For the Rapé, its bark is burned to ash and blended with Mapacho – a combination that in tradition invokes great energetic and spiritual power. Beyond personal work, Murici is also said to help strengthen relationships with others.
