        About Banisteriopsis Caapi/ Aya

This tropical vine can grow up to 30 meters long and lean on other plants. The Caapi vine can grow old and can be up to 100 years old or more. Banisteriopsis caapi, the vine, is the primary ingredient in Aya, a traditional medicinal tea from the Amazon region. A tea made with only the caapi vine is called Aya.

Some natives distinguish more than 40 species of Caapi vine. Native shamans and others say they can enter another state of mind with just an infusion of B. Caapi. This vine is seen by most of the 72 tribes as a "master plant" that provides specific information about other plants. They claim that their superior botanical knowledge is due to the vine.

The Sacred Ayahuasca Vine in Cleansing Form

Aya Caapi Cipó is a rare ceremonial Rapé from the Kuntanawa tribe, built on the ash of finely ground sacred vine Banisteriopsis caapi — the heart of the Ayahuasca tradition, also known as the "vine of souls." Unlike the ritual brew, this Rapé has no psychoactive effects, yet it carries a subtle vibration and the deep "spirit of the vine." It is a medicine for working with consciousness — for those seeking stillness, depth, and connection with their inner self.

Spiritual Connection, Meditation and Inner Clarity

The Caapi vine deepens meditative states and opens the third eye, supporting intuition and receptivity. Before sleep, it can bring deep, symbolic dreams. Right after the expansion of consciousness comes calm — Caapi can quiet the "monkey mind" and bring mental clarity and the state of the pure observer, from which you view your life situations with perspective and without emotional chaos. Despite its ethereal nature, this medicine remains surprisingly grounding — it carries a warm, expansive presence that holds you firmly in the body even during the deepest inner work.

Teacher of the Heart and Emotional Transformation

The Kuntanawa tribe places a strong intention for heart healing into their blends. Caapi is known as "the teacher" — on the emotional level it gently helps open old blockages and unprocessed patterns, guides energy from the head down into the heart, and supports self-acceptance, compassion, and emotional detox. This Rapé won't "ground you with a slap" like Cumaru, but rather takes you gently by the hand and invites you into deep inner work. It is ideal for more advanced users for ritual and meditative purposes.

One of my absolute favorites. It relaxes me physically and helps me go deep—to understand the details of how and why I act. Becoming aware of the motives and intentions behind my actions helps me change my attitude toward myself. And that brings another layer of release. Sometimes I approach a ritual with a specific intention, but Aya brings me an insight into something completely different, which is ultimately much more important.
